Loss of extensions after conversion to digital voice

Within a year or so it is expected that all landlines will have been converted to Digital Voice. This means that your telephone service will be provided via the internet, even if you are not currently an internet user. There are many cases where conversions have been carried out and customers have been left an acceptable solution and they are happy with their service. There are however many cases where extension wiring that you may rely on is disconnected due to the changes. When this happens we are able to help, and in nearly all cases reconnect your legacy wiring and equipment.

Low cost DIY Option

We offer a low cost DIY option that requires little or no skill to install. It applies to customers who have either the NTE5 master socket or the VDSL master socket. (See pictures below)

If you have either of these master sockets our Re-injection kit can easily be installed in around 5 minutes. Your router needs to be within 2 metres of the master socket - if it's further we can offer longer leads on request. For this to work you must have the analogue telephone port on your router enabled by your provider. In most domestic set ups this comes as standard but it's worth checking this before ordering. Feel free to call or email us for advice. Cost of the kit is just £29.95 including delivery.

Arrange for an Engineer to reconnect your extensions

If your existing master socket is not of the type shown above it is probably best to allow us to do the work on your behalf. Normal cost for this is £85.00 including parts.

Router location no longer where required since Full-fibre install?

On full fibre to the property installations the router plugs into the fibre interface close to the point of entry into the building. On occasions this is not where the router was normally located, resulting in perhaps your wifi no longer working in areas where it did before or hard wired connections to the router left disconnected. We can overcome this by installing a network cable between the fibre incoming point and the historic router location. Please call us for advice.
